AT&T To Pay $950,000 Settlement

AT&T Inc. American Telephone and Telegraph Company, is a multinational conglomerate holding company founded in 1883 and headquartered in Dallas, Texas. It provides telecommunications, media, and technology services.

According to reports, AT&T has agreed to pay a $950,000 USD settlement to resolve a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) investigation into a 911 outage that occurred on August 22, 2023.

The report further mentions that the outage lasted for 1 hour and 14 minutes, resulting in over 400 failed 911 calls in parts of Illinois, Texas, Kansas, and Wisconsin. AT&T will also implement a three-year compliance plan to ensure future adherence to the FCC’s 911 and outage notification rules.
