X, formerly known as Twitter, has launched a private likes feature that hides liked posts of users from other users. This means that users will still be able to see their own likes, but others will not.
According to the report, like counts and other metrics for posts will still show up under notifications, but only the author can see the list of those who liked the post.
The likes tab on users’ profile page is also unavailable when visiting other accounts. X’s engineering team says the feature is aimed at enhancing users’ privacy.
