ChargeScape: The Vehicle-to-Grid Company

Vehicle-to-grid (V2G), also referred to as Vehicle-to-home (V2H), is a system where electric vehicles (EV) and plug-in hybrid vehicles sell demand energy services to electrical grids (power stations or electrical substations, which are interconnected networks for electricity distribution).

According to recent reports, auto manufacturers BMW, Ford, and Honda have partnered to set up a new Vehicle-to-grid company, ChargeScape. The new V2G division aims to aid electric vehicle owners reduce cost by sending energy back to the grid, utilizing their lithium-ion batteries as storage cells to possibly charge other electric devices or power homes.
