Express Files For Bankruptcy

Express, Inc. is an American fashion retailer founded in 1980 and operates an omnichannel platform as well as physical and online stores. The company is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, and operates three major brands: Express, Bonobos, and UpWest.

According to reports, Express has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection as a result of debt and a decline in sales years after the pandemic. Express also announced plans to close 95 Express stores and all 10 of its UpWest stores.

The report further mentions that Express has received bids to be acquired by WHP Global, as well as Simon Property Group and Brookfield Properties, as it aims for a survival plan and improvements.
