According to reports, about 1.8 million people have been stranded due to the flooding in Sunamganj and Sylhet, of which 772,000 are children and in need of urgent medical assistance. 500 schools have been converted to food shelters, while more than 800 schools, as well as homes and farmlands, have been affected by the floods.

The report further mentions that 12,000 people are without power in the region, while fish farmers face an economic loss of $11.4 million USD as floodwaters wash away thousands of farms and ponds.

This comes less than a month after Incognito blog reported Cyclone Remal making landfall in Bangladesh.
