According to reports, on 28 March 2024, a bus conveying pilgrims from Gaborone, Botswana, to a church for an Easter conference fell off a bridge and into a cliff in the Mamatlakala region in Limpopo province.
The incident resulted in 45 fatalities and left 1 person seriously injured. The report further mentions that the bus was up in flames after falling, and the cause of the crash is under investigation, with ongoing efforts to recover the bodies of passengers who lost their lives and send them back to Botswana.
