Toyota and NTT, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, a Japanese telecommunications holding company founded in 1985 and headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, have announced plans to invest $3.3 billion USD to create an infrastructure and mobility AI platform that is aimed at reducing traffic accidents by 2030.
According to reports, the initiative aims to have a system ready by 2028 to support driver-assisted technology and hopes to achieve widespread adoption by 2030.
The report further mentions that the system will help prevent accidents caused by poor visibility in urban areas and support automated driving services to merge seamlessly on expressways.
