BMW To Recall 105,558 Vehicles

BMW has issued a recall of 105,558 vehicles in the US due to issues with the starter motor.

According to the notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), in the event the starter motor fails, repeated attempts to start the vehicle can cause the starter motor to overheat from an electrical overload.

Affected vehicles include BMW X5, X7, 3 Series, and 7 Series models. Dealers will update the vehicle software free of charge, with notification letters scheduled to be sent to owners in September.

In July, the Incognito blog reported a series of BMW vehicle recalls due to faulty airbag inflators.
