Hyundai has issued a recall of over 49,700 vehicles in the United States due to an issue that could affect the operation of the airbags.
According to reports, the main floor wiring harness may become damaged due to friction with the passenger side second-row bench seat assembly. The damage may cause the airbags to deploy unintentionally or not at all in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
The affected vehicles include the 2024 Santa Fe and Santa Fe Hybrid SUVs. Dealers will inspect and repair the wiring harness free of charge, and notification letters are scheduled to be sent to owners in September 2024.
