According to reports, Canva has announced the acquisition of Serif, a British software development company, for approximately $380 million USD.
This acquisition will help the company broaden its selection of professional tools and strengthen its competitive advantage by welcoming designers at every level and stage of the graphic design software journey. Serif (Europe) Ltd developed Affinity Designer, a vector graphics editor specifically for macOS, iPadOS, and Microsoft Windows. The company also developed Affinity Photo and Affinity Publisher, which make up the Affinity suite.
