The Eastern region of the United States has been hit by a series of powerful winter storms, which have led to 3 fatalities and severe damage to homes and infrastructure. According to the report, 12 tornadoes have been reported in Florida, Alabama, and Georgia, causing significant damage and leading to search and rescue operations.
Due to the severity of damage caused by the storm, Florida has declared a state of emergency in dozens of counties.
Around 2,000 people living in shelters were evacuated from Brooklyn to safer locations, with than 630,000 homes without power, and over 1,300 flights in or out of the US cancelled because of the storm. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a warning of several winter storms in other regions of the United States and parts of Canada.
