Famine in Ethiopia

The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, commonly referred to as Ethiopia, is a country located in the easternmost part of Africa. It is bordered by Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, Kenya, and Sudan. Ethiopia boasts of a total population of about 126 million residents which makes it the 13th most populous country in the world.

According to BBC, the Tigray region in Northern Ethiopia is supposedly facing a famine crisis as a result of the long running conflict between the country’s military forces and the Tigrayan’s. Although both parties reached a peace agreement in November 2023, the report mentions that over 90% of the areas population are at the risk of starvation.

Earlier this month, Incognito Blog reported the floods caused by the El Niño phenomenon, which unfortunately affected parts of Ethiopia.
