Rihanna and her breath-taking show at the Super Bowl on the 12th of February 2023. Robyn Rihanna Fenty, popularly known by her stage name, Rihanna, was born in Barbados on the 20th of February 1988. Early career struggles and also what seemed to be the making of the star we have all come to like, were the events of 10 years ago, 2003, when younger Rihanna and her girl group trio in Barbados auditioned with American record producer Evan Rogers and he invited her to the United States to record demo tapes and I guess she kept recording the tapes until those records found their way to the Super Bowl.
As of 2022, she was the wealthiest female musician, with an estimated net worth of $1.4 billion. Most of this fortune can be attributed to her Fenty Beauty line, which she started around 2017, shortly after taking her hiatus from music. Fenty Beauty is in a collaboration with LVMH, who are behind luxury brands like louis Vuitton, Moet and Chandon, and more. The LVMH brand is owned by a French entrepreneur, Bernard Arnault, who happens to be one of the richest people in the world with an estimated net worth of $190 billion.
Barbados is an island country in the Lesser Antilles of the West Indies, in the Caribbean region of the Americas, and the most easterly of the Caribbean Islands
Rihanna is the definition of hard work speaking for itself, as the second best-selling female music artist of all time, with sales of over 250 million records worldwide, she certainly deserves all the flowers and recognition she’s getting.
2023 Super Bowl Weekend
In the YouTube video, you can hear the Forbes executives confirm that the artists at the Super Bowl don’t get paid and this is not peculiar to Rihanna, there’s a list of artists that have graced the Halftime show who didn’t also get a penny, but the NFL pays for the artist travel expenses and the expense of the entire production.
Around 113 million people streamed the 2023 Super Bowl, according to Forbes, which is a lot of people to advertise to. So, if the artists aren’t paid in cash, they’re certainly getting a ton of engagement and publicity which eventually translates to money. This year’s show had a special mix to it and that was finding out that Rihanna was pregnant. Of course, it didn’t stop her from rocking the show from the start and it’s also so beautiful of her to reveal such splendid news with over 100 million viewers. Watch Rihanna’s performance here.
