Spotify has announced a 17% workforce reduction to focus the company’s resources on delivering real impact to its customers. CEO Daniel, mentioned that impacted employees will be contacted by Human Resources (HR) for a one on one conversation.
Daniel urged the rest of the team to embrace this leaner structure as it enables the company re-invest their profits back into the business.
The report further outlined various support packages available for affected employees including career support, and immigration support for those with an immigration status linked to their employment. In June 2023, Spotify reduced their workforce by 200 as reported by Incognito Blog.
17% of the workforce amounts to approximately 1500 employees, according to the BBC.
