Jeep Recalls 32,125 Vehicles

Jeep is an American automobile brand, currently owned by the multinational corporation Stellantis. It was established in 1945 with its headquarters in Toledo, Ohio. In 1987, Jeep became a subsidiary of Chrysler after being acquired from its previous owner, American Motors Corporation (AMC).

Accord to reports, Jeep has announced a recall of 32,125 units of its Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) due to risk of battery fires. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued the recall notice, citing a series of fully electric and hybrid models that have experienced failing batteries.

The recall affects plug-in models from 2021 to 2023. Owners have been advised not to charge their PHEV at this time and to park it outside to avoid causing damage to structures. They can also check if their vehicle is affected by entering the VIN on the Mopar website. Recall notices will supposedly be sent to dealers and owners on January 11 2024.
