Project Kuiper and SpaceX Deal

Kuiper Systems LLC, also known as Project Kuiper, was established in 2019 as an Amazon subsidiary with the aim of deploying large satellite internet packages to provide broadband internet from Earth’s orbit. According to recent reports, Amazon has acquired three Falcon 9 launches from SpaceX to support the deployment of its Project Kuiper mega-constellation.

These launches are scheduled to begin in mid-2025, and the project aims to launch 3,236 internet satellites to provide fast and reliable broadband internet access to underserved areas worldwide. However, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission has mandated that Amazon deploys at least half of that number by 2026.

Last year, Amazon secured more than 83 launches from Arianespace, Blue Origin, and United Launch Alliance, which are scheduled for launch over the next decade. In October, Incognito Blog reported Kuiper’s successful launch of two prototype satellites into Earth’s orbit to test the necessary technology for future deployments.
