IBM To Layoff Over 1,000 In China

IBM, International Business Machines, the largest industrial research organization in the world, has announced plans to shut down its research and development operations in China, which will affect over 1,000 jobs.

According to reports, this restructuring is a result of the company’s struggles with falling demand for its hardware and challenges in growth markets. These changes will not affect the company’s ability to support customers across China.

In March 2024, the Incognito blog reported IBM’s plan to lay off 8,000 employees over a 5-year period.
