Ghana To Construct a $12 Billion Oil Refinery

Ghana is a country in West Africa, known for its rich cultural heritage, with a population of over 34 million residents as of 2024. It is bordered by the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic Ocean, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, and Togo.

According to reports, the Ghanaian government has started construction of a 300,000 barrel-per-day oil refinery in the western region of Ghana valued at $12 billion USD, with the aim of transforming Ghana’s economy and making it a major player in the oil and gas industry in Africa by 2036.

The report further mentions that it will include petrochemical plants and will be financed and constructed by a consortium including Touchstone Capital Group Holdings, UIC Energy Ghana, China Wuhan Engineering Co., and China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Co.
