Rivian to Layoff 10%

Rivian Automotive Inc is an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer that was founded in 2009. The company specializes in electric SUVs and pickup trucks, both of which are built on a self-contained automotive chassis platform. The company also produces electric delivery vans, with its headquarters in California.

According to reports, Rivian has announced plans to lay off 10% of its workforce in a bid to cut costs, citing economic and geopolitical uncertainties in an increasingly difficult market. The report further mentions that the company is expected to lose around $2.7 billion in 2024 as it plans to shut down its manufacturing plant in Normal, Illinois within the year to upgrade its manufacturing operations and improve its production quota.

In June 2023, Incognito Blog reported Rivian joining Tesla’s supercharger league.
