Netflix, the subscription based video streaming service, has signed a long term partnership with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), to bring live sports entertainment to the streaming service. World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is a company that performs shows involving professional wrestling. It was founded in 1953 as the Capitol Wrestling Corporation and is now owned and controlled by TKO Group Holdings.
According to Netflix, this partnership will bring the WWE programs to Netflix, starting in 2025. The report further mentions that the WWE’s weekly program, Raw, will be broadcasted exclusively on the platform, in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Latin America, with other countries to be included eventually.
Forbes reported the deal to be worth about $5 billion USD, over a 10 year period.
