WhatsApp has announced a new feature that allows users send voice messages with the option that it disappears once listened to. View Once voice messages are a good way to share sensitive or personal information with contacts and this type of messages will be marked with a ‘one-time’ tag.
This feature was initially introduced in 2021 when View Once was implemented for photos and videos.
According to Meta, end to end encryption has been enabled for personal messages and calls on Facebook and Messenger. The report mentioned that users were previously given the option to activate end to end encryption since 2016, but the new privacy update enables the encryption by default.
In addition to the privacy updates, users now have the option to edit messages in messenger for up to 15 minutes after they have been sent.
