Ford has issued a recall of 112,965 vehicles due to a rear axle hub bolt that can pose a rollaway risk if damaged. According to the notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the rear axle hub bolt might break, damaging the axle hub splines, and can also cause the vehicle to roll away without the parking brake applied, increasing the risk of a crash.
The recall affects (2021-2023) F-150 pickup trucks that are equipped with the Trailer Tow Max Duty package. Owners can take their vehicle to a dealership for an interim repair if they hear a clicking or rattling noise around the rear axle bolt. Notification letters are scheduled to be sent to affected owners at the end of January.
In 2023, Incognito Blog reported the recall of almost 1 million Ford Trucks.
