Life & Immigration: 23

2024 has come to an end and it has been a year to remember. I think my word of the year is GRATITUDE because this year came with its different waves of ups and downs, and on this last day of the year, I am genuinely grateful for everyone and everything that 2024 had to offer.

Growing up in Nigeria, and particularly in my type of family, you quickly realize that you have a lot of angels in form of relatives, and this year my family lost an angel. World Bank was my awesome uncle who never ran out of things to say or gifts to give, and this year we’re celebrating the life of an awesome man that lived life to the fullest. I never bothered to find out why we called him World Bank, but it suits him. Know you are loved, uncle.

I spent this holiday period surrounded by friends and it was filled with food, laughter, and good conversations. At the end of the day, people would always matter more than material achievements. Speaking of material achievements, this year brought it’s fair share of good investments, positive career advancements, and personal growth, and for all these good things, I remain humbly grateful.

I miss home and family a lot more this year and while I am extremely grateful for the family and friends that are all around me, there’s no taking away the fact that the majority of my family are thousands of miles away from me, and I haven’t visited them since 2021.

I also found myself drawn into the world of online open world gaming and when I find the time, that is how I spend some of my evenings. The focus this game forces helps stimulate the ready state of my brain which I like, so I might continue to indulge, plus, I have the best squad.

In a different publication I will probably write a professional Year-in-Review because that has been exceptional this year, and I definitely look forward to the opportunities of tomorrow. How do I plan to spend my new year’s eve? E hinted the idea of grilling steak and maybe a glass of wine, but who knows where the day will take us. From all of us at Incognito Blog, we wish you and yours a happy new year’s eve, and a happy new year when it comes.
