According to reports, Wendel has announced plans to acquire Monroe Capital, in a deal valued at $1.13 billion USD for 75% of the company’s shares to benefit from the surge in demand for private credit solutions and to build its asset management business.
The report further mentions that the deal is expected to close in the first half of 2025 and the French investment company will invest an additional $1 billion USD in Monroe’s capital and may pay up to $270 million USD for the remaining 25% of the U.S. company over 2028-2032.
