Thanksgiving is an annual festival to express gratitude for the harvest, family, friends, and blessings of the past year. It is celebrated on the second Monday in October, as proclaimed by the then Governor General of Canada in January 1957, as a day of general thanksgiving to Almighty God for the bountiful harvest with which Canada has been blessed.
It is often referred to as the Canadian Thanksgiving to differentiate it from similar events celebrated in the USA and other areas. It is a public holiday in most parts of Canada, and the traditional food served includes turkey, roast beef, ham, mashed potatoes, etc.
Incognito blog wishes her Canadian readers a harvest of happiness, a feast of love, and a year of gratitude. Happy Thanksgiving celebrations.
