Google has announced plans to invest $1 billion USD in Thailand to build a new data center as well as the expansion of the country’s cloud infrastructure to meet growing demand and support artificial intelligence adoption in the region.
According to reports, the investment will create an average of 14,000 jobs annually until 2029 as it aims to boost its Cloud capabilities and AI innovations, which aligns with Thailands Cloud first policy.
The report further mentions that the data centre would be located in an industrial estate in Chonburi, while the cloud region would be in Bangkok and will consists of hardware and software dedicated to providing services to private and public sector entities.
