BYD To Recall 97,000 Vehicles

BYD, the Chinese automotive company, has issued a recall of approximately 97,000 vehicles due to a manufacturing defect involving the steering control unit that poses a potential fire risk.

According to reports, affected vehicles include Dolphin and Yuan Plus electric vehicles manufactured in China between November 2022 and December 2023. Dealers will install a physical fix in the recalled vehicles to address the issue.

The report further mentions that Dolphin and Yuan Plus EVs were among the company’s best sellers in 2023, accounting for 26% of the 3 million vehicle sales.
