Qualcomm, the multinational semiconductor, microchip, and software corporation, has announced plans to lay off 226 workers in San Diego later this year as part of a restructuring initiative.
The report further mentions that the restructuring will enable the company to invest in key growth areas, as the layoff is a result of a slowdown in demand for smartphones, which impacted the company’s revenue.
In October 2023, Incognito blog reported the company’s plan to lay off over 1,200 employees.
