Siemens: $60 Million Train Plant In New York

Siemens AG is a German multinational technology conglomerate founded in 1847 and headquartered in Munich, Germany. It is the largest industrial manufacturing company in Europe that specializes in distributed energy resources, industrial automation, rail transport, and health technology.

According to reports, Siemens is investing $60 million USD to build a 300,000 sq ft high-speed train plant in Horseheads, New York. The facility will create about 300 jobs and is said to be the first high-speed rail production site in the United States.

The report further mentions that the site is expected to start production in 2026 and will build the American Pioneer 220 trains that will operate on the Las Vegas to Southern California line operated by Brightline West, with speeds of at least 186 miles per hour and a proposed trip time of 2 hours 10 minutes.
