Telia To Layoff 3,000

Telia Company AB is a Swedish multinational telecommunications company and mobile network operator founded in 2002 and headquartered in Solna, Stockholm. It provides communication services to businesses, individuals, and communities, offering mobile, broadband, television, and fixed-line services with a presence in Finland, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

According to reports, Telia has announced plans to lay off 3,000 employees, which amounts to 15% of its workforce, as part of a cost-cutting initiative that will save the company $253 million USD annually.

The report further mentions that the layoffs will affect 1,400 employees in Sweden, and the rest will be divided among other countries. The layoffs are expected to be completed by December 1, 2024.
