Toyota has issued a recall of 43,395 vehicles in the United States due to a problem with the tow hitch cover.
According to the notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the tow hitch cover can separate from the rear bumper while driving and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Affected vehicles include 2023-2024 Sequoia Hybrids. Toyota dealers will replace the tow hitch cover and modify the rear bumper free of charge, with notification letters scheduled to be sent in October.
