AMD: $4.9 Billion ZT Systems Acquisition Deal

Advanced Micro Devices Inc (AMD) is an American multinational fabless semiconductor company founded in 1969 and headquartered in Santa Clara, California. It specializes in the design and manufacturing of memory chips and other essential components for computer processors.

According to reports, AMD has announced plans to acquire server maker ZT Systems for $4.9 billion as the company seeks to expand its portfolio of artificial intelligence chips and hardware.

The report further mentions that the acquisition is a combination of cash and stock, as AMD plans to sell its server manufacturing business when the deal closes in the first half of 2025.

ZT Systems Inc. is a leading provider of server solutions for cloud and infrastructure, founded in 1994 and headquartered in Secaucus, New Jersey. It specializes in design and infrastructure for “hyperscales” to develop technology for AI, cloud, and more general-purpose computing.
