TikTok, the short-form video and messaging application, has added a group chat feature to its platform to take on popular messaging platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram.
According to reports, users are able to create group chats with up to 32 people, and it will be available to users above the age of 15. Users can now watch, comment, react, and share content together in the group chats.
To create a group chat, users can tap the “chat” button at the top of their inbox and then select “more options,” where they can select friends they want to include in the group and then click “start group chat.”
The report further mentions that users can only be added to a group by a mutual follower; teens who create a group must review and approve new members. TikTok is also rolling out custom stickers in DMs.
