Tesla has successfully launched its first fully electric “Giga Train” in Germany, which will transport employees to work at Tesla’s Gigafactory in Grünheide, where they will build the company’s all-electric vehicles.
According to reports, the Giga Train is free to all passengers, including non-Tesla employees, and connects the Tesla station known as Tesla Süd with the Erkner station. Each of the train’s carriages has 120 seats and can transport up to 500 passengers per trip, with design features like bicycle compartments, ground-level access, and an information system for passengers.
The report further mentions that the Giga Train is expected to ease traffic congestion in the Berlin-Brandenburg area while offering a more sustainable alternative to traditional diesel-powered trains.
