California: Sixth Largest Wildfire

The Park Fire, as it has been called, started at a park last week when a man pushed a burning car into a gully. It has since destroyed over 368,000 acres of land in Northern California, with about 12% contained.

According to reports, at least 114 structures in four counties have been destroyed by the fire, and about 4,800 firefighters are currently battling what is known as the sixth largest wildfire in California’s history.

The fire has also prompted evacuation warnings and orders in several communities. Air quality alerts are in effect for parts of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Colorado.
