Alphabet Inc. is an American multinational technology conglomerate holding company founded in 2015 and headquartered in Mountain View, California. According to reports, Alphabet will invest an additional $5 billion USD in Waymo, its self-driving subsidiary, over the next few years. This investment will enable Waymo to continue building the world’s leading autonomous driving technology and improving overall efficiency.
The report further mentions that Waymo already delivers over 50,000 paid rides per week in San Francisco and Phoenix, with an expansion in Los Angeles and Austin. The company has also obtained permits to operate its robotaxi service 24 hours a day in San Francisco and surrounding areas.
