Afghanistan: Floods Kill 40

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, commonly referred to as Afghanistan, is a country located in Asia with a population of over 30 million residents as of 2021. It shares borders with Pakistan, Iran, Uzbekistan, and China.

According to reports, intense rainfall has caused devastating floods in eastern Afghanistan and has led to at least 40 fatalities with 347 people injured and receiving medical attention as of Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

The report further mentions that about 400 houses and some electric poles have been destroyed as a result of the floods, particularly in the Nangarhar province and its capital, Jalalabad. Emergency response teams have been deployed to support affected areas and find those who are missing.
