Harbin is the capital of Heilongjiang province in northeastern China with a population of 6.9 million residents as of 2024. It is known for its cold winters and has become a hub for ice and snow tourism since 1999.
According to reports, the new Harbin Ice and Snow World Park officially opened on July 6, 2024. It covers an area of 23,800 square meters, with a total ice volume of 20,000 cubic meters, maintaining a temperature of -8 °C to -12 °C indoors.
The report further mentions that it was awarded a Guinness World Record certification for the “world’s largest indoor ice and snow theme park”. It is divided into nine themed sections with 13 interactive projects as it aims to extend the city’s tourist season into a year-round destination with lots of unique experiences for visitors to explore.
