Brazil: Bus Crash Kills 10

São Paulo is the most populous city in Brazil and the capital of the state of São Paulo. It has a population of 12.4 million residents as of 2020 and is the largest Portuguese-speaking city in the world.

According to reports, a bus crashed into a central pillar of a bridge near the town of Itapetininga, 170 km west of the state capital, São Paulo, resulting in at least 10 fatalities and 42 people injured.

The report further mentions that the bus was heading to Aparecida from Itapeva, a religious town known to attract many pilgrims to its Basilica, Our Lady of Aparecida. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash, as emergency response teams have attended to those injured.
