NFL: $4.7 Billion Antitrust Fine

The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league that consists of 32 teams, divided equally between the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC). It was founded in 1920 as the American Professional Football Association and is headquartered on Park Avenue in New York City.

According to reports, a California jury has ordered the NFL to pay more than $4.7 billion USD in damages for violating antitrust laws by inflating the price of its Sunday Ticket. The jury awarded $4.6 billion USD to 2.4 million residential class and $96 million USD to 48,000 commercial class.

The report further mentions that the lawsuit covers residential and business customers who paid for DirecTV packages of Sunday ticket games from the 2011 through 2023 seasons.

The NFL could end up paying $14.39 billion USD under federal antitrust laws.
