Fisker has issued a recall of 12,523 vehicles in North America and Europe due to issues with the outer door handles.
According to the notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a door that fails to open can prevent occupants from exiting in an emergency and increase the risk of injury.
Affected vehicles include 8,204 Ocean SUVs in the United States, 513 in Canada, and 3,806 in Europe, totaling 12,523 vehicles. The company will inspect all four outer door handles on each vehicle and replace them if necessary free of charge.
Earlier this month, Fisker filed for bankruptcy, as reported by Incognito Blog.
