Tesla Recalls 11,688 Vehicles

Tesla has issued a recall of 11,688 cybertrucks in the United States due to issues with the windshield wipers.

According to the notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), excessive electrical current can cause the front windshield wiper motor controller to fail, which can reduce visibility for the driver in wet conditions and increase the risk of a crash. Tesla will replace the windshield wiper motor free of charge.

The report also mentions that Tesla is recalling 11,383 Cybertrucks due to trim in the truck bed that could come loose and create a road hazard for others. Both recalls include cubertrucks produced between November 2023 – June 2024.

Tesla service teams will apply adhesion promoter and pressure-sensitive tape or replace missing trim, free of charge. Notification letters are scheduled to be sent to owners in August 2024.
