Kimberly-Clark Exits Nigeria

Kimberly-Clark Corporation is an American multinational consumer goods and personal care corporation that produces mostly paper-based consumer products. It was founded in 1872 and is headquartered in Texas, USA. The company’s products include notable brands such as Kotex and Huggies baby diapers.

According to reports, Kimberly-Clark has announced its intention to exit Nigeria after 15 years, citing macroeconomic conditions, high cost of electricity, FX scarcity, as well as a shift in the company’s strategic priorities globally.

The report further mentions that the company has also laid off 90% of its workforce as part of the process of shutting down operations and will no longer manufacture or market its Huggies and Kotex products in the country.
