Mexico, officially the United Mexican States, is a country in the southern portion of North America. With a population of over 129 million residents as of 2023, it is the 10th-most-populous country and the most populous Spanish-speaking country in the world. It is bordered by the United States, Guatemala, and Belize.
According to reports, former Mexico City mayor Claudia Sheinbaum was elected president on Sunday, June 2, 2024. She received between 58% and 60% of the total votes, which is said to be the highest vote percentage in Mexico’s democratic history.
The report further mentions that she will be the first woman to hold the office in the 200 years of the Mexican republic. Claudia will replace the outgoing President Andrés Manuel López Obrador on October 1, 2024.
