ITU: $4.8 Billion Investment

ITU, The International Telecommunication Union, is a specialized agency of the United Nations. It was founded in 1865 as the International Telegraph Union and is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. It is responsible for many matters related to information and communication technologies. It is also one of the oldest UN agencies.

According to reports, ITU has announced plans to invest $4.8 billion USD to boost global connectivity. This investment aims to provide accessibility to everyone, everywhere and will be used to enhance digital technologies, adoption, inclusion, and focus on artificial intelligence to transform digital societies.

The report further mentions that ITU received investment funding from AT&T, the Canadian government, and Microsoft.
