Ford Recalls 42,652 Vehicles

Ford has issued a recall of 42,652 vehicles due to concerns that their fuel injectors could crack and cause a fuel leak in the engine compartment. According to the notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a fuel injector may crack and leak fuel inside the engine compartment, increasing the risk of a fire.

The affected vehicles include the 2022-2023 Bronco Sport and 2022 Escape vehicles equipped with 1.5L engines. Owners have been advised to check the NHTSA website to see if their vehicles are affected and take them to a dealership to have a drain tube installed, as well as update the engine control software that detects fuel leaks, free of charge. Notification letters are scheduled to be sent in April 2024.
