Microsoft: $2.9 Billion AI Investment in Japan

Microsoft, the multinational technology company, has announced plans to invest $2.9 billion USD in cloud computing and AI infrastructure in Japan over the next 2 years.

This investment plan is aimed at improving Japan’s economy and technological advancement as Microsoft will open its first Research Asia lab in Japan and train about 3 million people over the next three years as it plans to deepen its cybersecurity collaboration with the Government of Japan.

The report further mentions that this investment will enable Microsoft to provide more advanced computing resources in Japan, including the latest graphics processing units (GPUs), which are crucial for speeding up AI workloads. This is also Microsoft’s largest investment in its history in Japan.
