Automattic Inc, the private software company behind WordPress.com, has announced the acquisition of Beeper for $125 million USD in an effort to improve its messaging capabilities as it looks to expand its reach beyond just blogging and website creation.
This acquisition deal will allow Beeper and texts.com teams to work together to create an all-in-one messaging platform for users.
Beeper is a cross-platform messaging app that supports a wide range of chat services, including WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Facebook Messenger, etc. It was founded in 2020 and is headquartered in Palo Alto, California. Beeper also offers support for multiple devices and operating systems, including Android, iPhone, and Windows OS.
In October 2023, Incognito Blog reported Automattic’s acquisition of texts.com for $50 million USD.
