Unilever to Layoff 7,500

Unilever is a British multinational company. It is one of the largest producers of consumer goods worldwide, founded in 1929 with its headquarters in London, England. Unilever’s products include foods, condiments, ice cream, beauty products, etc., which can be found in about 190 countries.

According to reports, Unilever has announced plans to lay off 7,500 of its global workforce and spin off its ice cream unit Ben & Jerry’s as a standalone business as part of a restructuring plan aimed at cutting costs and boosting profits. The report further mentions that the spinoff is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. The restructuring will save the company $867 million USD in costs over the next three years.
