Apple: Web Distribution for iOS Apps

Apple has announced major changes to its mobile application distribution offering in response to various developer backlash and scrutiny by European Union’s laws. This new update will allow developers in the EU publish their iOS applications from the developers private website.

According to the report, Apple will provide an Application Programming Interface (API) to enable developers distribute their iOS apps to EU users via personal websites. This web distribution feature will be available in the spring of 2024 and would require users to authorize the installation on their iPhone’s settings.

Earlier this month, Incognito Blog reported Apple’s $1.9 million USD antitrust fine.
